UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

A really nice motel at Franz Josef Glacier‘ – What really impressed us was the hostess gave us a really warm welcome when we got there in cold rain. Vicki advised us that our rooms had been really warm as she turned the heaters on for a couple of hours. This was so great and heart-felt.

Excellent location and helpful staff” – I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Although the Franz Josef area is riddled with sand flies and mosquitoes, the owner operators have done their best to minimize the problem within the rooms.
Al L, Sydney, Australia
“We enjoyed our walks to the village and could see the views of the river when crossing the footbridge. All staff very helpful. Enjoyed our stay.
John, Desborough, New Zealand
“The motel has recently changed ownership and has been updated to provide ideal accommodation. The help received from the staff was superb and if Franz Josef is a must on the itinerary then a stay at the Glacier Gateway motel should also be a must.
Mervyn, Walton-on-the-haze, United Kingdom
Good value for money – and much better overall than the reviews under previous management indicated. Peaceful location outside the township and despite being just off the main highway no really noticeable road noise. The ‘good’ assessments would be ‘very good’ if there were such a category. Insect-repellent dispensers .were a welcome addition.
